Owls Just Wanna Have FUN!

I love to decorate owl shaped cookies.

There are no rules.

They're not fussy.

They just wanna have FUN!

I made a whole bunch of these

 for a birthday girl

and some to give away.

Black. White. Gray. EASY! Not!

When I was asked to do this order, my thought was

HOW HARD CAN THIS BE?

SHE ONLY WANTS WHITE, BLACK, and GRAY!

Let me tell ya--
 This. was. hard. for. me!

I'm not a white, black, and gray person.

I love lime green, 

orange, 

yellow 

and sometimes fuchsia!

When I handed it over to the customer,

I almost didn't want to look at her face.

My thinking was, 

IF I DON'T LIKE IT, SHE WON'T LIKE IT EITHER!

She loved it!

The above platter had to grow on me.  

After a few weeks, I kinda liked it.

Then came this order.

REQUEST: black, gray, white!

I begged my customer to let me use an additional color 

so she said okay.

Yellow.

Ahhhhhhhhh.

I can breathe.

 When this order was all put together, 

I decided that I kinda like the color gray.

It's kinda BLAH until you give it some friends!

Then came this order!  

I was excited to use gray.

Notice, I even used light gray and dark gray.

Whoaaaa, that's really pushing the envelope!

I now love gray.

I use it quite often. 

I love the combo of black, white, gray and a BRIGHT color to spice things up.

PS-I may have purchased a few articles of GRAY clothing in the past few months.

Whooo would've thought!

Whooo Doesn't Fit In?

These are for a local high school.

They got me thinking about my high school experience.

I remember that I never really "fit-in" with one particular group.

I had friends from each clique--jocks, nerds, mod punkers, artsy, students council, etc.

I liked it that way!

I was friendly to everyone and had many friends.

There were some mean girls that didn't like that I was friends with everyone.

They were so mean!

They tried saying mean things and poking fun of me--BULLIES!

I was really good at ignoring them, I always felt like they were just jealous.

They didn't really bother me.

I think about the high schoolers today who may not be able to "ignore" the bullies.

The ones who may not "fit in" so they're treated unfairly-bullied.

They must feel lonely.

It makes me sad!

Bullying can damage a persons soul and spirit.

It can guide the direction they take in life.

It makes a BIG impact for some while others just shake it off!

I can only hope that my OWN children

embrace the kids who don't "fit-in".

Whooo doesn't love a fat owl?

FunKy is a good thing!

  It can make itself known via a pair of shoes, a purse, a piece of jewelry, a hair-do, a brightly colored pen, a fabulous journal, even the style of your handwriting. 

 I think everyone has a little bit of "funky" in them!
