Girlie, Cowboy, Beach
Here's whats happening in my neck of the woods today.
Baby shower favors for a sweet momma and her soon-to-be baby girl.
The theme of this shower is
pink, green, and orange with white polka dots.
These are for a wedding rehearsal dinner with a western theme.
This centerpiece/bouquet and tray of minis will be on the dessert table.
I LOVE decorating minis!
Guess how many minis are on the platter below???
Answer: 8 dozen minis!
These are for a BEACH LOVIN' guy turning 50!
He's loved by all!
That's all she wrote!
Until next time!

Cookie Bouquet--My Style
Cookie bouquets can be challenging.
What container do I use?
How do I keep the cookies in the container?
Do I wrap each cookie?
Here's what I do.
I make cookies thicker than normal and bake.
As soon as they come out of the oven, I stick a wooden skewer in the cookie
and cross my fingers that they don't crack the cookie!
I decorate as usual and let dry.
I cover each one with a cello bag and tie a ribbon, twine, etc. on the bottom.
I always use a red clay pot that is painted (by me) to match the cookies as a container.
It's heavy, the right size, and doesn't cost too much.
Place in styro foam that is wedged in the container.
This is the final product!
Ready for a celebration!

Just some cookies
This is what I've been doing the past couple of days
Some cute cookies for a SUPER Teacher!
Of course, you know I think ALL teachers are amazing!
The fact that they go to school each and pour into all of the kids is SUPER!
But before they actually teach, they do a bazillion other things.
They have a hard job!
And no, they don't take it easy in the summer!
They work, they take classes, and they excitedly prepare for the next group of kiddos!
And they take classes--did I already say that?
24-7
365
For a sweet friend who happens to like sunflowers.
I could've made her a superhero too--
She is a SUPER woman!
These are for a dear lady to give to her daughter!
There are just some people who will always get a "yes" from me!
This gal is one of the first people who encouraged me to jump on the cookie adventure!
She motivated!
She believed in me!
She will always get a yes when it comes to cookies--
even if it's the day beofre the event!
There you go!

School and A Quiet House
Around here in Arizona,
many kids go back to school tomorrow!
It's still 150 degrees outside,
but I guess that doesn't matter!
There will be lots of sad (and happy) moms and dads
as they send their kids off to school.
Although my kids drove me batty on many a few days of summer,
it's going to be quite around my house during the day.
Who is going to watch cooking shows with me?
Who will have 11:00 ice-tea with me?
And for those who have a child starting kindergarten,
I bet you're wondering where the time went!
Like Zane's momma!
The above cookies were made for Zane.
Here's the 'thank you' note he gave me!
Good luck kids!
Good luck moms and dads!
Have a great year!

Over the Hill???
These cookies are for a guy who turned 40 years old!
He is now OVER the HILL! (I think 40 is FUN!)
There were lots of favors to share with co-wokers,
a bouquet to remind him of his "new" age,
and some special treats to take home to his family!
Thank you Trish!

Sunflower Bouquet
I made this bouquet as a birthday gift. It was my first attempt at making a bouquet and I'm pleased at how it turned out. I was a nervous wreck about putting cookies on a stick but it worked out---phewww! Another hurdle!
